Resurfacing of SR-133/Cox Creek Parkway in Florence to start Sunday night

Resurfacing of SR-133/Cox Creek Parkway will begin Sunday night. The project includes resurfacing through multiple intersections, including the intersection with Darby Drive.

Resurfacing of SR-133/Cox Creek Parkway in Florence will begin the evening of Sunday, July 27, weather permitting.

In the $1.4 million project, contractor Rogers Group will mill and resurface more than two miles of the corridor from US-72/Florence Boulevard to SR-17/Helton Drive.

Initial work will include milling at intersections, installing signal detection loops, and patching.

Parker Road bridge over I-65 to close Thursday at noon

Contractors raised the Upper River Road bridge over I-65 by jacking it and inserting metal shims, which will be encased in concrete.

The Parker Road bridge over I-65 near Hartselle is scheduled to close Thursday, July 24, at noon as part of a project to raise the bridge structure.
