The Alabama Department of Transportation will be performing resurfacing, guardrail end anchor installation, and traffic striping along SR-1 (US-431) from the Henry Road intersection to the Iron Mountain Road intersection in Anniston.
This project will require 24-hour lane closures on SR-1 during the resurfacing phase. The outside lanes will be closed first for approximately two weeks. Once work is completed on the outside lanes, the inside lanes will be closed for approximately two weeks.
The remaining items of work will be performed with intermittent lane closures.
The project is planned to begin on August 11, and be completed in the Fall of 2025.
Motorists should adjust arrival/departure times. Please observe work zone speed limits, work zone signs, and use caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this project to improve Alabama’s roadways.
